Kid Phantom interview on 4BC live Radio Brisbane, and LiveWire.org

Last Friday afternoon, I was lucky enough to chat to Mark on 4BC 1116am about 'Kid Phantom':

Earlier in the week, I received notice about my short video piece interview for the teens on Livewire.org; a Starlight Foundation initiative, that allows teens with long term illness to access the website for interviews, exclusive content etc. Very honoured and humbles to have been asked to participate.

Oh, not *that* Jerk again...Paul Mason on 'The Late Nite Show' Episode 1, Season 5 (2014)- Part 4.

Yep. Sorry.

Seriously though, thanks again to host Scott Black, companions Amanda Bacchi & the Flashman, the welcoming crew of Kris, Vin, Richard and the rest of 31 Digital for inviting me back for the first episode for 2014. Chatting 'Soldier' etc. like it's an actual *think* that people dig. Makes me feel a little warm and fuzzy. Though that could just be the humidity.
Cheers, Soldiers. Marching on.

How to feed your ego: Past Episodes of the Late Nite Show

Host Scott Black and the great crew of 31 Digital have invited me back to the Late Nite Show this week for the launch of their 2014 season. What to kill some time and brain cells? Suss out the previous episodes, from most recent to first (Sept 2013, Jan 2013 and Nov 2012). Talking Soldier Legacy, Comics, Taekwon-do, and mostly Bullsh**. Sorry about the language, young readers. Let's say "Not Suitable for the Class Room". This Thursday Feb 6th at 9pm (10pm AEDST) on Brisbane channel 44, or online live streaming at: https://new.livestream.com/accounts/1953698/31DigitalLive Gotta run. Keep marching on.

Paul @ ZICS Aug 31st, Brisbane Writers Festival Sept 8th.

Hey All,

Sorry I don't have much time to chat, hope you all are well :D Brisbanites, I do hope if you're out and about next weekend, you'll be stopping by 'The Edge' SLQ at Southbank for the Zine and Indy Comics Symposium, kicking off Friday night and running Saturday and Sunday from 12-6. I've been kindly invited along as a guest, so I'll be either at a table doing sketches, with heaps of prints and some leftover Soldier Legacy and SDCC Folio books from 2012 and 2013 at the table, or I'll be chatting at a couple of panels- one on Saturday and two Sunday. Check out the Schedule above :D

Saturday 4 - 5:30 "Us vs Them"

12:30 - 2:30pm : 30 min. Workshop block in the 12:30-2:30 "Skillz 2 pay the Billz" (1pm, but stick around for the others)

2:45 - 4:00pm "Voices- Message based comics and Zines".

I might just hammer out free character head sketches, yeah? Leave you folks with more money for comics, zines and print ;) Want something bigger with more detail? THEN we can talk.

---------------------------------------------------------------

The following weekend (Sunday 8th September back at The Edge, State Library of Queensland) I'll be chatting on the 'Well Drawn- Creator-Owned Comics' panel at 1pm, with Eddie Campbell, Zac Cameron- Smith and Dylan Horrocks, as part of the Brisbane Writers Festival. Very honoured and humbled to be involved, considering the massive line up. More details and how to book via the link above :D

More stuff soon as I come up for air.

Someone was silly enough to let me on TV... ;P

Big, big thank you to Mr Scott Black and the crew (Steve and James above too) for inviting me onto 'The Late Nite Show'. We talked...well,  mostly nonsense, but a little about 'The Soldier Legacy', Brisbane Supanova, and comics. If you're in Brisbane, tune in tonight (Thursday 8th Nov) and 9:30pm on 31 Digital (Channel 44), or again on Saturday night (replay).

It will be up on Youtube for the interstaters curious to see me make a jerk of myself ;P Click the links below, and check out past episodes of the show, Funny stuff, very much in the same vein of Conan or Craig Ferguson :D

Thanks again, gents :D

Soldier Legacy #3 Now available from Comics Etc.!

The fantastic crew at Comics Etc. have the Soldier Legacy #3 now available in store and online! These guys were the first retailer to support me and carry my product, and I am very grateful for this. And, the book has a special challenge as it's not only one of the only Australian comics in there, but it also sits alongside all the American books (gulp!). How it'll stand up against MArvel and DC's new 52 for instance, remains to be seen.

So, do me a favour, if you haven't got a copy, support the book and your local comic store :) Remember too, the Soldier Legacy is also available via Black Boox and other comic stores interstate :)
